The Donna Terra brand was born in the heart of Julia Líbor, artistic director of Retrock. Involving guest creators, she shapes the brand, which celebrates the raw, yet soft feminine power, giving confidence to the wearer.

These jewels are made in honor of our old Hungarian Golden Ladies, and bear their names. We know close to nothing about them, they are not mentioned in the history books, even though we wouldn’t be here without them. While our men were in battle, they were the ones who organized and carried out every task imaginable. They raised our children, harvested the crops, performed military duties, and healed each other at the highest level. It is a volatile veil, an invisible work they had carried out, yet a very strong intellectual, spiritual, and physical fort held in the background.

I believe in a world where having traits unlike the average can be considered as charms, depending on the lenses we look through. This is why these jewelries get a rustic finish, because of my fondness of flaws, including my own.

I know the archaic theme is "non-trendy" to process, so I tried to touch it with the purest heart. Just like in case of my everyday responsibilities, I try to approach this exemplary female quality with good attitude and spirit. I still have a lot to learn. Celtic Goddess Danu, Danube river, dunna "duvet", Dunna the Golden Lady

💦 Our Danube river (Donau in german) and the name of Dunna the Golden Lady are also traced back to the Celtic goddess Danu, who is the goddess of water. Fertility and fairies are also associated with her name.

A Celtic tribe called the Tuatha de Danann, meaning “the keepers of the Knowledge of Danu”, lived here in the Carpathian Basin during the era of the god-king Atilla. What the Romans later called Pannonnia, they called Bannwun. Bannwun means "Blessed Motherland" in the Celtic (earlier Proto-Scythian) language, which literally means Blessed Mother.
At that time, the big river was called Danu.

💦 dunna "duvet":
If you hear the word dunna what comes to your mind? I first heard this word as a child in Szalonna, where some of my relatives live. Dunna..This word gives me great warmth. It covers me, hugs me, as if I were pulling a big fluffy cloud over me and falling asleep like that.

💦 Minor events from the life of Dunna the Golden Lady, whose name my earrings bear:

- Reigned: 451-453 and 460-498. She was a wonderfully beautiful wife of Bleda (Buda), the Hunnic ruler.

- Dunna lived in Budavár, in a part of the Jász plain that was often harassed by foreign adventurers, but Budavár's tunnel system was well protected.

- Thanks to her efforts, during her lifetime, goldsmithing became a valued form of art.

-The Hunnic trade hub of that time was named Dunna-Ordos by the Uz craftsmen.

- The most noted craftsmen set up the story-telling well on the island of the Golden Lady, where, together with the shamans, they would tell the youth about the many thousands of years of history of the Hun Tribal Alliance of the 24 tribes.

- Lady Dunna died in 498 AD. At her request, she was buried at the healing springs below Budavár, so that the waters of the healing springs would warm her bones even after her death. Nekese sang the funeral speech of the Golden Lady of Budavár, so that the Hun Tribal Alliance of the 24 tribes would live forever.
